Poultry Health

To help stop antimicrobial resistance, many consumers are no longer purchasing meat from companies that over-use antibiotics.

Producers, in turn, are forced to reduce their antibiotic usage. At the same time, without antibiotics, the diseases can spread uncontrolled.

US BIOLOGIC and the USDA Agricultural Research Service are developing a series of solutions to reduce the need for antibiotic use in poultry.

These solutions will result in new vaccines and anti-microbials, each orally delivered via the water supply or in a powder applied to the feed.

These safe, effective, and cost-efficient vaccines can limit a range of diseases, such as coccidiosis, while at the same time reduce the need for antibiotics.

About One Health

“One Health is the concept that the health of animals, the health of people, and the viability of ecosystems are intricately linked.” – USDA

US BIOLOGIC is a “One Health” company, which means we see disease prevention as a process across multiple species, including companion, food, and wildlife animals, and humans. This approach has been strongly supported by the CDCUSDA, and companies like ours.
